What Data We Collect

Data You Create

Backline stores the following data locally on your device:

• Setlists you create
• Songs and their details (title, artist, key, tempo, notes)
• Your app preferences and settings

This data is stored only on your device using a local database. It is not transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Anonymous Analytics

We use Firebase, a service provided by Google, to collect anonymous usage data that helps us improve the app. This includes:

• App opens and session duration
• Crash reports (if the app crashes)
• Performance metrics (app startup time)
• General device information (device type, operating system version)

This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally. We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any other personal information.

What We Do Not Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Contacts or address book
• Photos, files, or media
• Your setlist content (stays on your device only)

Data Storage and Security

All your setlists and songs are stored locally on your device using SQLite, a secure local database. Your data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not backed up to our servers
• Is not shared with third parties
• Is protected by your device's built-in security

How to Delete Your Data

You have complete control over your data. To delete all app data:

1. Open Backline
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap Reset All Data
4. Confirm the deletion

This permanently deletes all setlists, songs, and preferences from your device. This action cannot be undone.

You can also uninstall the app, which removes all locally stored data.

Third-Party Services

Backline uses the following third-party service:

• Firebase (Google) - For anonymous analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Children's Privacy

Backline does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, the app is safe for use by people of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" above.
